ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Center for Rural Health and Health Workforce
The ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW) is dedicated to strengthening
ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É’s health workforce, with a focus on rural communities and addressing workforce
shortages. The Center oversees various programs, including the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Area Health
Education Centers (AHEC), which operate through six regional community-based centers
across the state. As part of the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É's role as the state's
health campus, the Center supports health program planning, community partnerships,
and intercampus collaboration. It provides a statewide framework to support health
workforce development, from career exploration and training to continuing education.
Angela Trujillo, Professor of Nursing and ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É Comprehensive Training Academy (ACTFA) from ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É offers free trainings for health care professionals on how to document and report abuse effectively.
Students in the medical assisting program at the ÑÇÖÞÉ«°É College of Health benefit from a unique collaboration with the Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center.
Students in fall's EMT 130 — Emergency Medical Technician I burnished their clinical and decision-making skills in a trio of rapid-fire trauma simulations, thanks to a first-time partnership between the Fire and Emergency Services program and the Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center.
